The Faugères Grande Réserve is a great wine for special occasions. It is produced in very limited quantities and only in the best years.
Grape varieties: Selection only from our best vineyard plots. Predominantly Mourvèdre and Grenache, with some Syrah and Carignan. The exact percentages vary depending on the vintage.
Yields: Low yields of 25 hectoliters per hectare on average.
Vinification: Long maceration with manual punching down for 3 to 5 weeks.
Ageing: Aged two years in concrete egg and in French oak barrels.
Taste: A great wine marked by elegance, power and complexity. We recommend opening the bottle at least two hours before and using large wine glasses.
With food: The Grande Réserve matches beautifully with fine meats dishes, in particular beef, game and lamb.
Drinking window: We suggest to enjoy the Grande Réserve within a period of 8 years.
